General information

The SchooL on Advanced Light-Emitting and Optical Materials (SLALOM) will be held on December 12-13, 2019 in St. Petersburg, Russia. Advanced light-emitting and optical materials, including metamaterials, is a platform for future breakthroughs in telecommunications, quantum computing, displays, photovoltaics, and biophotonics.
The world's best experts will give lectures grouped in 2-day course. The lectures will cover the fundamental and technological aspects, as well as the latest achievements in this field. The additional poster section for young participants will provide unique opportunity for exchanging their experience with the world leading experts.
This year we introduce a new concept for the Poster session – Electronic poster (ePoster). Each presenter will have a screen and a laptop to display multimedia versions of a poster. We advise you to prepare a presentation (6-10 slides) in PowerPoint (or similar program) ratio 16:9 in the landscape orientation. Multiple slides can be used if there is additional content, images, graphs and videos that needs to be displayed on your poster. We encourage you to use the E-Poster format to make your presentation more flexible and interactive. Note that no regular poster boards will be available, all posters will be ePosters.
The School is organized by the Research Center of Nanophotonics and Metamaterials of ITMO University with financial support of Russian Science Foundation (grant 19-73-30023). We thank all the participants of the School and look forward to seeing you next year!
